A Schenectady teen is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana as a result of a traffic stop in Dobbs Ferry, police said.

Police reported stopping a vehicle driven by the 16-year-old on July 6 at approximately 3:05 a.m. on Hickory Hill Drive.

The officer reportedly smelled burning marijuana and observed a "rolled philly blunt" in the car's center console.

Police said the driver turned the item over to police.

He was issued a citation for the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana and then released at the scene on his own recognizance.
