Dobbs Ferry Cops Issue Two DWIs

An on-duty police lieutenant responded to the scene after hearing a car with two flat tires dragging on the road.

Dobbs Ferry Police charged two men, one local, with driving while intoxicated on Saturday night. 

Sgt. Rick Guevara said that at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Michael Spedaliere was at Maple Avenue and Broadway when he heard metal grinding. He observed a gray Mazda 3 with two flat front tires and damage to the front bumper.

Spedaliere stopped the driver Mihael Ginghina, 42, of Dobbs Ferry at Belden Avenue. The suspect failed field sobriety tests. The car was impounded and Ginghana was released to return to court on March 1.

Later that evening, at 3:13 a.m. on the 19th, Officer Mike Huffman stopped a 2009 BMW for driving west on Ashford Avenue 48 miles per hour in a 30 MPH zone. He was stopped at Ogden Place and Ashford Avenue.

The driver, a 37-year-old Queens resident, was administered field sobriety tests, which he failed. He refused chemical testing.

The car was impounded and he was released to return to court on March 1.
