Dobbs Ferry Police: $1K Loot from Car; Fake Prescription

Early morning car honking led to a local woman getting slapped, police said.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Dobbs Ferry Police Department:

Woman Reports Being Slapped
A Main Street resident reported to police at 2:16 a.m. on August 4 that she went to another resident's home looking for her daughter.

The woman said she was driving back and forth outside the residence beeping her car's horn, when the homeowner came out and asked her why she was honking.

The driver told police she explained she was looking for her daughter and was then slapped by the woman.

Police said no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

Car Break-In
A Mohican Park Avenue resident contacted police at 7 a.m. on August 5 to report someone had entered his vehicle overnight.

The man told police when his daughter arrived home at approximately 11 p.m. the night prior, she noticed the car's glove compartment and truck were open.

He told police two tennis rackets, a sports coat, prescription sunglasses, a GPS and Kindle were missing. The items are collectively worth $1,640.

The 2011 Honda Accord, he said, was parked in his driveway at the time.

Fake Prescription
A local doctor told police on August 4 that he had been notified of a possible forgery.

Police said the 8:20 p.m. complaint came from a doctor who was notified by a Spring Valley Walgreens that its pharmacy had filled a prescription supposedly prescribed by him.

The doctor said he did not write the prescription, but someone had stolen his prescription pad recently.

The doctor obtained a copy of the forged prescription and forwarded it to police.
