Dobbs Ferry Police Investigate Larcenies

Antiques and car parts among the items reported missing by village residents.

Here's a rundown of some of the recent larcenies investigated by the Dobbs Ferry Police Department:

Flatware Goes Missing
A Beacon Hill Drive resident contacted police at 10:49 a.m. on July 21 to report a larceny that appeared to have occurred after 7:30 a.m. that morning.

The resident said someone entered the apartment—though no forced entry was noticed—and took one of two wooden boxes inside containing antique flatware.

Police said the value of the flatware was estimated at $3,000.

Wallet Snatched from Purse
An Oasis Day Camp employee reported at 1:42 p.m. on July 20 that her wallet was taken from her purse while it was in Victory Hall at Mercy College sometime between July 18 and 20.

The woman told police the wallet contained $35, debit and credit cards and a driver's license.

The wallet itself is valued at $60.

Car Grill Stolen

A Main Street resident reported to police at noon on July 15 that the grill from his Lexus had gone missing sometime overnight.

The man said the vehicle was parked in a lot between 11 p.m. and 11 a.m. when the piece went missing. The grill is worth an estimated $200.
