Dobbs Ferry Police: Unwanted Groping; Fight at Soccer Match

Spectators and players reportedly scuffled during a men's soccer game at Mercy College.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Dobbs Ferry Police Department:

Soccer Game Brawl
A fight broke out during a men's Mercy College soccer game on October 19, the police department reported.

Dobbs Ferry and Irvington officers responded to the local field at about 5:29 p.m., where authorities reported a ball hitting a player had escalated into a large fight involving punching and kicking.

Police said players and some spectators were involved, but after the fight was broken up, no parties said they wished to pursue charges.

According to the school's website, the day's match was versus Molloy College and ended with a 0-0 tie in double overtime.

Local Woman Groped
A local woman called police on October 14 to report a man had forcibly touched her the night before.

The 22-year-old told police she was walking home from the train station at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Grandview Avenue when an unknown man approached her and they engaged in a brief conversation.

The woman said she tried to leave, but the man embraced her and groped her buttocks before walking away.

The woman said she walked away in the opposite direction and went home. She provided a description of the man to police.
