Drunk Driver Strikes Utility Poles, Car

This report was derived from information from the Dobbs Ferry Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Yonkers man was arrested on Dec. 29 after allegedly hitting several utility poles in Hastings-on-Hudson before crashing into a car in Dobbs Ferry.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Police reported that several utility polls had been struck by a dark colored station wagon on Broadway around 8:17 p.m. in Hastings-on-Hudson. Shortly after that, a 1999 green Ford Taurus rear-ended another car stopped at the traffic light at Broadway and Cedar Street in Dobbs Ferry.

Police said the 56-year-old driver of the Ford allegedly smelled like alcohol and was taken to police headquarters for sobriety testing, which he refused. He was charged with a DWI, a misdemeanor, and released without bail to a family member.
