Explosion at Dobbs Ferry Restaurant, 2 Injuries

Two were sent to the hospital after an unknown explosion occurred in the basement of The Cookery at 39 Chestnut St.

The cause of an explosion in the basement of a Dobbs Ferry restaurant that injured two on Tuesday is unknown.

The blast occurred around 6:42 p.m. at The Cookery, at 39 Chestnut St. in Dobbs Ferry. Two individuals suffered minor injuries and were transported by the Dobbs Ferry Volunteer Ambulance Corp. to Westchester Medical Center.

There appears to be no structural damage to the restaurant, which was evacuated soon after, authorities said.

The village’s building inspector, Dobbs Ferry Fire Department, Dobbs Ferry Police Department, Westchester County Health Department and Con Edison are currently on the scene.
