Hastings Police: Stolen Jewelry; Harassing Texts

A $10,000 wedding ring was among the items a resident reported missing from his car.

Here's a look at some of the recent incidents investigated by the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department:

Larceny from Parked Car
A resident contacted police at 4:15 p.m. August 7 and stated someone had taken multiple jewelry items from his vehicle.

The Windsor Road resident said sometime between August 4 and August 5, the following items had gone missing from his vehicle: a wedding ring worth $10,000; a ring with gold worth $4,000; a sapphire ring worth $4,500; and a women's watch and another ring with no value provided.

Police said his car wasn't damaged during the alleged theft. The case remains under investigation.

Missing Tires
A Warburton Avenue resident contacted police the morning of August 8 and reported all four of his vehicle's tires had gone missing while parked in a lot overnight.

Police responded to the Warburton Avenue parking lot and confirmed the tires were gone and had been replaced with milk crates to support the 2012 Honda Civic.

Harassing Texts
Police received a call from a woman, who sounded to be intoxicated, at 11:04 p.m. on August 5.

She stated she had been receiving harassing phone calls and text messages. Police advised the woman to save the messages and go into police headquarters the following day to file a supporting deposition.
