Irvington Police: Driving Arrests; Lewd Spray Paint

The following information is from the Irvington Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Here's a look at some if the incidents recently investigated by the Irvington Police Department:

Suspended License Arrest
A 40-year-old Bristol, CT, driver was arrested at 7:15 p.m. on July 11 after being stopped for an alleged traffic infraction, according to police.

Officers reported the man's Cadillac Escalade was stopped on South Broadway. Following the stop, police found the man was allegedly driving with a suspended driver's license.

He was transported to headquarters for processing and the vehicle was impounded. The man was later released on $250 bail with a court date.

Spray Paint on School Property
Police received a report from Main Street School on July 16 that someone had spray painted a lewd statement on a storage building on the school's campus.

Police said it appears the act occurred between 10 a.m. on July 10 and 10 a.m. on July 16. The damage was caused by black spray paint and included "some phallic symbols" according to police, as well as the words "Suck my d***."

Car Damaged on Main Street

A Tarrytown resident reported to police at 1:22 a.m. on July 11 that her Honda Pilot was damaged while parked on Main Street.

The woman told police the passenger's side front window was broken and there was damage to the door as well.

She told police the vehicle had been parked on the street since 9 a.m. the day prior.

Unlocked Cars Entered
Three Meadow Way residents in Irvington recently had their unlocked cars rifled through, according to the Police Department.

Police said that they were notified at 8:14 a.m. on July 8 of the alleged larcenies, where sunglasses and $20 were taken. A third vehicle was entered, but did not have anything missing, according to police.

Police said it appeared the larcenies had taken place sometime overnight.

Residents of Hastings and Dobbs Ferry have also reported similar incidents recently.

Dobbs Ferry Driver Arrested
Police reported stopping a vehicle on July 15 at 9:30 p.m. and arresting the driver, a 20-year-old Dobbs Ferry man, for allegedly driving with a suspended license.

He was stopped on South Broadway and transported to headquarters for processing. The man was released on $150 bail with a court date.

Screens Damaged
A South Ferris Street resident reported to police on the afternoon of July 12 that someone had removed and damaged two screens from the side of her residence.

She stated the damage had occurred sometime between 7:30 p.m. on July 9 and 7 a.m. on July 10.

The screens had been pulled from their frames and broken, but it did not appear someone had attempted to gain entry into the home, police said. 

Stolen License Plate
A motorcycle parked on Hamilton Road had one of its license plates stolen between 7:30 p.m. on July 10 and 10:30 a.m. on July 11, according to a male resident of the village.
