Police: Letters with ‘Sexual Narrative’ Make Way to Rivertowns – Again

The letters have circulated through the Rivertowns for years, police said.

Dobbs Ferry Police have received three reports from female residents who have received a letter with “sexual narrative” within the last two weeks.

Police say the letter is being sent from an anonymous source that sends the letters under the name of a man who actually exists. However, it has been confirmed that he has not been sending the letters himself. The letters tend to be sent in waves that occur once or two a year and "has been going on for years," police said.

Police described the nature of the letter as “vile,” with the most recent incident being reported by a 76-year old Dobbs Ferry woman. All the letters are typed, police said.

Police said while it will be difficult to track down the author of the letters, residents are encouraged to notify police if they receive on. It is also helpful to handle the letters “as little as possible,” as it might be possible to pull something for processing from a letter, police said.
