Police: Man Tried to Stop Cops from Entering Home

A man from China visiting an Irvington family reportedly pushed officers as they responded to a dispute complaint.

A China resident faces a misdemeanor criminal charge in Irvington after police allege he attempted to prevent officers from entering a Sycamore Lane home on August 17.

According to the Police Department, a resident of the street called at 8:38 a.m. to report a domestic dispute.

Police said when they attempted to enter the home, a 59-year-old man visiting from China tried to prevent them from entering.

The man allegedly pushed the officers "several times," according to police and was arrested and charged with Obstruction of Governmental Administration.

He was taken to police headquarters for processing and arraigned by a Sleepy Hollow village justice.

The judge set bail at $500, which the man posted. His passport was surrendered.
