Police: Man Who Stole Car in NYC Arrested in Dobbs Ferry

Prescription drugs found in the car also earned the Elmsford man a controlled substance charge.

Police received a report of a suspicious man sitting in a vehicle in an Ashford Avenue parking lot at 12:30 p.m. September 14.

According to officers who responded, the man inside the 2009 Lexus was found with black paint on his hands and feet. He also was not wearing any shoes, police said.

After running the car's license plate information, police found it had been reported stolen from 117th Street in New York City a few hours earlier.

The man, Lendel R. Marshall of Elmsford, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree, a D Felony.

Police also reported finding prescription drugs in the vehicle that belonged to the car's owner. Marshall, 25, was therefore also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a misdemeanor.

Marshall was arraigned and remanded to Westchester County Jail without bail. Court records indicate he is due to appear next on October 3.

Note: Arrests do not indicate convictions.
