A Pleasantville man and recently reported that six checks were stolen from his car while it was parked in Dobbs Ferry, police said.
The victim, an employee of St. John’s Riverside, told police that the checks were taken from his vehicle, which was parked by valet at the hospital, between Dec. 22 and Dec. 24. Three of the checks have since been forged and presented in the area for a total of $4, 071.
The incident is still under investigation, and a suspect has emerged. The suspect is not any of the valet attendants, police said.
St. John’s Riverside Hospital has been the scene of multiple thefts recently, as a $600 t-shirt was stolen from a car on Saturday, Dec. 28. Police said this is a surprising trend given the amount of people – and security – on hospital grounds.
