Reward Offered For Puppy Abuser’s Arrest

The New York Humane Association is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for gravely injuring the 9-month-old pit bull who was left for dead in Yonkers.

The New York State Humane Society is looking to assist the SPCA of Westchester in its investigation of finding those who are responsible for using a 9-month-old pit bull as a “bait dog” and leaving him to die on the side of the road.

The state humane association, based in Kingston, is offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible individual or individuals.

The Briarcliff based SPCA of Westchester reported that the Yonkers Animal shelter called its Humane Law Enforcement Division on March 28 to report that the puppy was found gravely injured on a walkway between Somersville Road and Edwards Place in Yonkers on March 28.

Local veterinarians were not able to save the emaciated and neglected pit bull, who they believe was used to train other dogs to fight, and determined that it had to be euthanized.
