Police are searching for two men that robbed a clerk at gunpoint early Thursday morning at Madaba Deli, 582 Warburton Ave. in Hastings-on-Hudson.
Police said they received a call at 3:33 a.m. from the clerk advising them that two males, who were dressed in black and had covered faces, made off with an unknown amount of cash. One of the males kept his eye on the clerk, while the other stole from the cash register and a box with lottery receipts.
One of the suspects allegedly had a black automatic handgun and fired it as the pair fled. A shell casing was found on the floor near the front door of the deli. No one was injured.
The suspects escaped in a small white vehicle heading northbound on Route 9 (Broadway). The Westchester County Police Crime Scene Unit assisted the Hastings-on-Hudson's detectives with processing the crime scene. Surrounding police departments have been advised of the incident.
Police ask that anyone with any information of the crime make a confidential call to (914) 478-2344.
