Four teenagers ranging in age from 15 to 19 were stopped in Irvington this week for possession of both marijuana and other illegal controlled substances, police said.
On June 27, a 16-and a 17-year-old girl from Hastings were arrested at Halsey's Pond on charges of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The 17-year-old was also charged with possession of Temeazapan, a prescription sleep aid best known by the brand name Restoril.
Both teens were issued appearance tickets and released to their parents.
The following day, police stopped an 19-year-old White Plains resident and an 18-year-old Valhalla resident traveling in a 2008 Nissan Sentra, and after a search of the vehicle, charged the 18-year-old male with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance for having a number of unprescribed Xanax pills. Xanax is the common brand name for the anti-anxiety medication Alprazolam.
Both were issued appearance tickets for a July 16 court date and released.
