Two Arrested for Not Paying Taxi Fee in Dobbs Ferry

Five passengers didn't pay their taxi bill when dropped off on Ashford Avenue, police said.

Two men were apprehended in Dobbs Ferry early August 31 after police said they were among a group of five that failed to pay a taxi driver.

Police received a report from a taxi company just after 4 a.m. last Saturday reporting five males had been dropped off on Ashford Avenue near Storm Street, but did not settle their $38 bill.

Officers found two males on Ashford Avenue that the taxi driver identified as two of the passengers and arrested them

The 20-year-old Yorktown Heights man and 19-year-old Yonkers man was each charged with one count of Theft of Services.

The two were released on their own recognizance with a September 12 returnable court date.

Police are continuing to search for the remaining three passengers.

Note: Arrests do not indicate convictions.
