Two Teens Face Drug Charges in Irvington

Local police and members of the Greenburgh Drug & Alcohol Task Force reportedly found marijuana and other substances in a vehicle.

A stop of a car with four teenage passengers resulted in the arrest of two on June 25, the Irvington Police Department reported.

An Irvington detective and members of the Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force reported stopping a vehicle at 3:30 p.m. "subsequent to a short term investigation on South Buckhout Street."

Two passengers, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, were released at the scene (the 15-year-old was picked up by a parent), while the driver and a third passenger were arrested.

The driver, a 17-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident, was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Police believe he had a form of ecstasy or cocaine, in addition to marijuana.

A second 17-year-old Yonkers teenager was also charged with violation Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

Both were processed at police headquarters and released to their parents with July 15 court appearance tickets.
