Visalli to Replace Bloom as Police Chief in Hastings-on-Hudson

Sergeant Anthony Visalli, a 15-year veteran of the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department and a village resident, will be sworn in as the village's new police chief on March 10.

The Board of Trustees chose Visalli to replace Chief David Bloomer, a life-long Hastings resident in the Police Department for 30 years who has headed the force for the past five years and who will retire March 7.

"Sergeant Visalli brings a dedication, thoughtfulness and skill to the job that impressed the selecting committee," said Mayor Peter Swiderski in an email to residents. "We look forward to working with him and seeing him grow into the challenges of the position.  We are proud of the level of service, professionalism, training and spirit of our police force. We believe that Sergeant Visalli will continue that tradition and seek to maintain the high standards and further extend the services we offer."
