A reportedly drunken Manhattan woman was arrested on March 9 for striking a 52-year-old woman in face who was holding an 8-week-old infant.
Officers arrived at a Lincoln Avenue home in Hastings-on-Hudson around 6 p.m. after the homeowner, a 72-year-old female, reported that her daughter had been assaulted by a houseguest.
The daughter sustained substantial pain and had to seek medical treatment after she said the 27-year-old woman allegedly struck her in the head and face after the woman was asked to leave and returned.
Police said the victim was holding the baby, whose 24-year-old mother was also on the scene, when she was attacked.
The 27-year-old, who was also treated at St. John’s Hospital, was charged with assault in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the second degree, both misdemeanors, and released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
