Irvington Planning Board to Tackle Mercy's Expansion, Continuum Senior Housing

Two public hearings about developments on Route 9 top the March 7 agenda.

The ongoing public hearing about 's expansion plans is expected to start about two hours into tomorrow night's meeting of the Planning Board.

The discussion will center on that part of the project proposed for the Irvington side of the campus. There are 31 acres in the village—25 acres are on the Dobbs Ferry side of the border.

The expansion project includes three buildings for faculty and staff offices, plus associated roads and parking; and conversion of some of the offices in Mercy Hall to dorm rooms.

There are eight project discussion continuations on the agenda; the other major development is the This includes 81 assisted living units and 40 units for residents with memory issues such as dementia, along with community-living amenities.

The Continuum Company LLC wants to build on the campus of the Foundation for Economic Education.
