County Executive Robert P. Astorino marked the occasion of Westchester's 330th birthday with a cake during the kick-off of Hudson Valley Restaurant Week at the newly opened RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen in Tarrytown.
When he blew out the candles on the chocolate cake, Astorino, vying for re-election, said he wished for "another four years in Westchester."
He recounted the time of our county's founding when we were sparsely populated farmland. Now we are among 62 counties in the state, boasting almost a million people.
