Hastings to Feed the Hungry With Empty Bowls

Donations for the Empty Bowls Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Hastings High School are $10 for adults and $7 for students

The Hastings-on-Hudson community will again sit down to share a simple meal in the hopes that their union will help fight hunger.

An Empty Bowls Dinner will be hosted by Hastings High School’s Amnesty International Club will be held in the school’s cafeteria on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. Donation

The Empty Bowls Project, started by the Imagine Render Group, and is an international grassroots movement to eliminate hunger. Groups create handcrafted bowls and invite guests to the Empty Bowls Dinners where they are fed a simple meal, usually of soup and bread, in exchange for donations to local organizations that feed the hungry. Guests get to keep their bowls as a reminder of the dinner.

Hastings’ upcoming Empty Bowls Dinner will benefit the Food Bank for Westchester.
