HoH Seeks Members for Budget Committee

The following is a note from the Hastings-on-Hudson School District.

The Superintendent, District Business Officer, and administrators are in the early stages of developing the 2013-2014 school budget.

An important part of our budget process is the input we receive from our Citizen Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC).  This committee has been active since the 2007-2008 school year.  We typically have 15 to 20 community members, with a good balance of new volunteers and those who have contributed their time in the past.

We ask that committee members attend two joint CBAC/Finance Committee meetings, a community-wide presentation on facilities projects, and Board meetings when the proposed budget is presented.

CBAC/Finance Committee meetings budget presentations at board meetings Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. and Monday evenings at 8:00 p.m.  in the Lloyd Library, Farragut Complex John J. Russell Lecture Room

•       January 9th

•       January 7th – Budget Development Overview

•       January 23rd

•       February 11th – Preliminary Budget

•       March 18th – Proposed Budget

Facilities Presentation James Harmon Community Center

•       January 28th  at 7:00 p.m.

We invite anyone interested in serving on this committee for the first time to apply by using the attached form (also available on the District website).

Previous members can just send an email to Eileen Baecher at baechere@hastings.k12.ny.us or call the district’s business office at 478-6405.

All responses should be submitted by Thursday, December 20, 2012 so we have time to prepare for the meetings appropriately.  We appreciate your willingness to participate on this important committee and to actively engage in the budget development process.

Sincerely,

Members of the Board of Education
