Ausiello to Play Professionally

Very exciting news out of Dobbs Ferry today (April 24) as Mercy College senior standout Jenna Ausiello (Petaluma, Calif.) will be playing professional softball in Hamburg, Germany this summer.

Ausiello will play for the Hamburg Knights 1st Team and also serve as a coach for its junior squad. All the details can be found at the link here, as well as a postseason wrap-up of Ausiello's outstanding 2012 season.

Mercy Baseball

The Mercy College baseball team celebrated as sophomore Jesus Jaile belted his second home run of the season in a 9-2 ECC loss to C.W. Post this afternoon (Apri 24). You may recall that Jaile hit the first Mercy home run in nearly two years (April 14, 2010) earlier this season.

Soccer Alumni Day

The Mercy College Men's Soccer Alumni Day was a complete success this Saturday (April 21), as more than 30 former players representing each of the past three decades took part in the festivities, which included an exhibition game against the current squad (the alumni lost, 4-2) and a post-match reception.

Women's Lacrosse

A pair of Mercy College women's lacrosse attackers, junior Marissa Hurleyand sophomore Kristen Znaniecki, were named to the ECC Honor Roll for Week Eight after leading the Mavericks to a 3-0 week.

Softball

The below was taken from the respective school's websites:

On the 17th, Clark split their twin bill with guests Roger Williams, losing the opener, 5-4, and copping the second, 3-1. Second baseman Stefi Kettenacker (Hastings '08) had 1 hit, 1 r.b.i., and fanned once in the opener, and in the 2nd game she had 1 hit and fanned once.

Tennis

The St. Olaf men's tennis team bowed to Carleton on the 18th, as Andy Catania (Ardsley '09) dropped his singles match, 7-6 (7-4), 6-1, and then lost the doubles match, 805.
