Dobbs Ferry Youth Places 3rd in Golf Tournament

An 11-year-old Dobbs Ferry youth took on dozens of adults in a friendly hole-in-one tournament in Pleasantville.

The following is from the Pleasantville Lions Club:

While none of the 41 participating golfers won the two top prizes in the Pleasantville Lions Club August 10th Hole-in-One & Raffle event at Parkway Field, Anthony D’Aria won a third prize and local charities supported by the Lions will score.

The $50,000 Hole-in-One Shoot Out and $500 Preliminary Round Hole-in-One prizes went winless. However, Anthony D’Aria of Pleasantville won $100 for closest to the pin in the preliminary round with 26 inches, the same score he had last year.  D’Aria, a member of the Lions Club, and two other golfers qualified to participate in the finalist round. Michael Allar of Pleasantville came within 42 inches and ll-year-old James DeCarlo of Dobbs Ferry, within 46 inches.  DeCarlo won one of the three cash raffle prizes drawn during the event.

Among the local charities supported by the Pleasantville Lions are Guiding Eyes for the Blind, the Lions Vacation Camp for the Blind, New Eyes for the Needy, Lions SEE (Screening Eyes Early) screening for children’s primary vision disorders, the Interfaith Food Pantry and Rosary Hill Home.
