Here are some things to keep in mind this week:

1. Tuesday is "Haiku Day" at the Irvington Public Library. Head outside to create your own brief poems and more. Details are here.

2. Varsity sports practices in Hastings, Irvington and Dobbs Ferry begin Monday, Aug 19. 

3. Business owners are coming together in Dobbs Ferry Monday evening to talk about the formation of a Chamber of Commerce. Read more here.

4. Westchester County is warning residents that "bats are making a big August comeback." The Westchester County Department of Health asks residents catch bats in homes for rabies testing. Details are here.

5. Dobbs Ferry's Conservation Advisory Council is meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Village Hall.
