Painting, Mom’s Group, Cancer Fundraiser

  1. Adults and teens can sign up for painting workshops or private lessons at Yellow Door Studios in Hastings-on-Hudson. Classes run Mondays from Oct. 7 to Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. $300 fee. Call (914) 478-4200 for information.

  2. Rivertown Mamas, based out of Dobbs Ferry, host a New Moms' Discussion Group for women with children aged newborn to 1 year old on Oct. 7. Talk about breastfeeding, sleeping, and anything else on your mind. The group requests older siblings be left at home. The group operates on a “pay-what-you-wish” model, with a suggested amount of $20 per meeting.

  • The Cookery in Dobbs Ferry presents the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraising Dinner on Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. Enjoy a four-course “wine and dine,” guest speakers and a live auction.   • Take your business to the next level with The Purple Crayon’s business development workshop, “Inc. Interactive: The Brand of You” on Oct. 10 at 9 a.m. in Hastings-on-Hudson. Julie Cottineau, the founder and CEO of BrandTwist, a brand consultancy that helps entrepreneurs build their brands and leverage them as actionable business assets, leads the workshop. Cottineau was also VP of Brand at Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and has been an adjunct professor at Columbia and Cornell. For more information and to register click here.
