Students Perform Sound of Music at Irvington High School; Hastings Mothers' Club Hosts Theme Tray Social

  • Irvington Middle and High Schools' joint production of The Sound of Music is taking place Friday-Saturday at 7:30 P.M. and Sunday matinée at 2 p.m. at Irvington High School. Tickets are available at Irvington Printing, located at 18 N. Astor st. in Irvngton, or at the door before each performance. Adults: $15 Students/Seniors: $10.   • The Hastings Mothers' Club is hosting a theme tray social and 50/50 raffle Friday at 8 p.m. inside the James V. Harmon Community Center, at 44 Main St. in Hastings-on-Hudson. Admission is free and food and refreshments will be available. The Mothers’ Club support many local programs, working closely with the Youth Advocate Program, donating to the local Fire Department and Ambulance Corps and awarding yearly scholarships to Hastings High School students.   • ArtsWestchester is hosting a free viewing of the film "Prince Among Slaves" and the exhibition “Forgotten Roots: African-American Muslims in Early America Saturday through Wednesday. The exhibition hall will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the movie will be show at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. There will be a special exhibition tour by Amir Muhammad on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and Monday through Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • The YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester is hosting an open house for its kindergarten program from noon to 1 p.m. The YWCA is located at 515 North St. in White Plains.
