Tennis Carnival; Road to Freedom Walk

Here's a look at some upcoming local happenings in the Rivertowns area this weekend.

Here are some ways to get out and enjoy the Rivertowns and beyond over the next few days:

Road to Freedom Walk

Where/When: Gould Park on Sunday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m.
Why go: The 8th Annual Road to Freedom Walk kicks off at 1 p.m. with a procession along Ashford Avenue and then North on Broadway featuring a fife & drum-led Continental Army. At 2:15 p.m., head over to the Mead House (12 Elm St.) to enjoy a concert in period dress. Refreshments will be served.

Kids Day Tennis Carnival

Where/When: Tennis Club of Hastings (100 River St.) on Sunday, Aug. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why go: Face painting, a bouncy castle, lunch, tennis games and more are on tap at the new Tennis Club.
Pricing: Free admission

Hastings-on-Hudson Farmers Market

Where/When: Hastings Municipal Building parking lot on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Why go: Stock up on locally-grown produce, prepared foods and more at the weekly village outdoor market. This week, The Levins will provide live entertainment in the lot.

Archaeology Antics

Where/WhenIrvington Public Library on Friday, Aug. 16 a 3 p.m.
Why go: It's the end of summer reading! Celebrate at the library with a lineup of archaeology-themed activities and challenges with Professor Livingpebble.

Jazz & Blues at Dusk

Where/When: Yonkers Waterfront Amphitheatre (99 Main St.) on Friday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. 
Why go: The Infrastructure Project is coming to Westchester County Friday and plans to bring tunes that will keep you dance all evening.
