With the holidays right around the corner and temperatures still above freezing, there is plenty going on around the Rivertowns this weekend, and we’re here to help you decide the best way to spend your time. 

Here are the details for several great events.

Give Blood before you give Thanks: The Dobbs Ferry High School is hosting a blood drive for the New York Blood Center in the Dobbs Ferry Middle School gym Thursday, Nov. 21 at 9 a.m.

Celebrate Thanksgivukkah in Greenburgh: The Greenburgh Hebrew Center will have two pre-Hanukkah/Thanksgiving dinners beginning Friday, Nov. 22 at 5:15 p.m. The dinners will be followed by joyous musical Shabbat services led by Rabbi Kenter and Cantor Leuchter. call the synagogue office at 914-693-4260 to make a reservation. “O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?” The Ardsley High School Drama Club proudly presents William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Ardsley High School. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students.

Pope Julius II and the Sistine Chapel: Toni McKeen returns to the Irvington Public Library with a Powerpoint lecture about "Pope Julius and the Sistine Chapel" on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. The presentation will tell the story of Michelango being recruited by Pope Julius II to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Harvest Moon Ball: Held in the Hastings High School Cochran Gymnasium on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Harvest Moon Ball will include dance instruction, contests, trophies, refreshments, and traditional and contemporary jazz by the award winning high school band. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults ($20 with raffle ticket). The Harvest Moon Ball is a fundraiser for the Hastings High School music department’s spring trip to Washington, D.C.

Give the gift of art this holiday season: Local artists at 145 Palisade Street in Dobbs Ferry invite residents to their studios Sunday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m. Original works will be on display to view and purchase directly from more than 25 artists.
