Dobbs Ferry High School is a public school serving grades 9-12 in Dobbs Ferry. The principal is Mr. Keith K. Yi. In 1998, Dobbs Ferry High School became the first high school in Westchester to belong to the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization, offering rigorous two-year pre-college training in a varety of courses for eleventh and twelfth grade students. Dobbs Ferry teachers and administrators have chosen the IB curriculum because they believe it challenges students to take a more active role in their own educations and fosters critical reasoning.
The school serves more than 400 students, 90% of whom will go on to further their education. The faculty is deeply involved in the development programs and encourages students to participate in activities that demand high levels of responsibility and commitment. Athletics have always been a particular point of emphasis in Dobbs Ferry, but in recent years the school's academic reputation has risen to be among the best in the county.
They offer a wide variety of elective courses, a culturally diverse population, support programs for students learning English, a homework center, a computer lab and fully operational TV studio.
Students are encouraged to participate in extracurriculars, athletics and internships. The school is also active in facilitating community service opportunities and other connections to the Dobbs Ferry community.
