The Dobbs Ferry Police Department is housed on the first floor of the municipal building on Main St., and is made-up of 28 full-time officers, about half of whom are locals. The department is comprised of multiple divisions, including patrol, youth, detective, motorcycle patrol, boat patrol, and a certified child safety-seat technician. There are also two officers certified to teach DARE in public schools.

The response time of this team is very short, usually dispatching an officer to an area of need within two minutes. There are generally four police cars on active duty at all times, within the 2.5 square mile radius of Dobbs Ferry. The Dobbs Ferry Police Department has 10 marked cars and several unmarked vehicles.
