Founded more than 200 years ago, the Irvington Historical Society was resurrected in the last two decades and moved to its new location on Main Street in 2005. With more than 1000 members and a considerable number of dedicated volunteers, the Historical Society is able to install four distinct exhibits per year and plan additional events and fundraisers. Past exhibits include women's work, military, pharmacy and wedding attire. They also offer house tours and have an online database of photo and document archives available to locals upon request. The current president is Andy Lyons. The Historical Society offers workshops for children at various times throughout the year and sponsors annual photo and pie-baking contests.
