Constructed in 2007, the Hastings community center is an open and airy building located directly next to the fire…More station in Hastings. The center employs a full-time staff of three recreation employees, one superintendent and a senior outreach worker. It offers activities including a ping pong club, yoga, line dancing and tai chi. Almost all activities are free to Hastings residents.</p> <p>The building also houses the community youth center, which is run by a youth advocate. Amenities in the youth center include computers, video games, pool and a variety of board games.  </p> <p>It contains the offices of the village's Parks and Recreation Department. </p>

Greenburgh Hebrew Center, founded in 1947, is a conservative synagogue with 325 active members. The center has both a…More nursery school (for children ages 3 to 5) and a religious school that continues through high school.</p> <p>Rabbi Barry Kenter describes the synagogue's community as participatory, vibrant, hands-on and warm. "Our services always have a lot of singing. They're traditional but not stodgy," Kenter said.</p> <p>The synagogue offers adult education programs, youth groups, a sisterhood, men's club and a weekly program for young families.</p> <p>Services are on Saturdays at 9:30am, but Kenter also performs all life cycle events, such as baby namings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and weddings.  </p> <p>The social action group, Tikkun O'Lam (repairing the world), is very active in such organizations as Midnight Run.</p>

In…More 1998,  Dobbs Ferry High School became the first high school in Westchester to belong to the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB)  Organization, offering rigorous two-year pre-college training in a varety of courses for eleventh and twelfth grade students. Dobbs Ferry teachers and administrators have chosen the IB curriculum because they believe it challenges students to take a more active role in their own educations and fosters critical reasoning.  </p> <p>The school serves more than 400 students, 90% of whom will go on to further their education. The faculty is deeply involved in the development programs and encourages students to participate in activities that demand high levels of responsibility and commitment.
