The school faculty and administrators take pride in maintaining small class sizes, a rigorous curriculum and a strong sense of community. The Hastings-on-Hudson Public School District consists of three buildings: Hillside Elementary School, Farragut…More Middle School and Hastings High School. There are approximately 1600 students in total. Each of the three schools has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. </p> <p>Of the 2009 graduating class, 96% of students continued on to post-secondary education. 100% of students took the SAT exam, with a mean critical reading score of 598 and mean math score of 595. </p> <p>The district prides itself on its attention to the arts and critical thinking. Students are encouraged to take courses in a variety of subject areas. They have maintained small class sizes and a strong sense of community. Teachers and administrators make a point of learning students' names and areas of academic strength and weakness. </p>

Farragut Middle School is the public middle school serving grades five through eight in the village of…More Hastings-on-Hudson. The school was awarded a Blue Ribbon of Excellence in 2007 by the United States Department of Education. The current principal is Gail Kipper. Fifth-grade classes are self-contained, while students in six through eight change teachers throughout the day. Although the school buildings are connected, Farragut Middle School stays separate from Hastings High.</p> <p>Annually, the students' performance on English/Language Arts standardized tests is among the best in the state.
