The fire department is proud to have as members of the team one village trustee, many school employees, members of the Irvington Historical Society, postal workers, two women and a medical doctor.</p> <p>The volunteers respond to approximately 350 calls per year, ranging from working fires to gas leaks, electrical emergencies and floods.</p> <p>The Irvington Fire Department is one of the few in the area that has an aquatic rescue team trained to react to a variety of emergencies that can occur in the Hudson River.  </p> <p>They department has four vehicles: two engines, one ladder and a rescue vehicle.</p>
