The Village of Irvington Police Department has 21 officers. The Chief of Police is Michael Cerone, Lieutenant isMore Michael Morano and the Sergeants are Michael Foley and Raube McDaniels. Chief Cerone is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.</p> <p>Their departments include: youth, patrol, detective, safety-seat installation, vin etching, bike unit and a boat task force.</p> <p>The department takes pride in responding quickly to a variety of calls and are extremely community oriented. The Irvington PD sponsors recreation programs and four officers also coach high school sports. It also has four DARE-certified officers.  </p>

Hastings High School is the public high school serving grades nine through 12 in the village of Hastings-on-Hudson.More The School was awarded a Blue Ribbon Award of Excellence in 2002; its principal is Louis Adipietro. The school faculty and administrators take pride in maintaining small class sizes, a rigorous curriculum and a strong sense of community. Teachers maintain contact with each student, and both teachers and administrators know almost every student by name. The school offers Advanced Placement Courses, honors courses, electives and special education.
