Hometown: White Plains

Birthday: May 5

Bio: Dina's main editorial mission is to arm citizens with important facts that help them make informed decisions.

Her passion for journalism started at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY, where she won a Quill Award in Enterprise Writing for a story on the lack of affordable health care for students. She went on to receive a master's degree in journalism from Iona College in New Rochelle, NY.

Dina has worked for Metromix.com, the Impact and the Rivertowns Enterprise—a well-established and respected local newspaper in Dobbs Ferry. She covered Hastings-on-Hudson and Ardsley as one of the Enterprise's two staff reporters.

Dina loves music, especially The White Stripes, and her Maltese Ruby.

Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs.

So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics

How would you describe your political beliefs?

I support legislators who pursue policies that are in the best interests of American people. I am not registered with a political party.

Religion

How religious would you consider yourself?

I was raised Roman Catholic, but don't subscribe to all of the beliefs of organized religious institutions. I believe in love, kindness and being a good person.

Local Hot-Button Issues

What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?

The continual rise of taxes and the taxpayer's inability to support them.

Where do you stand on each of these issues?

Municipalities and school districts—who face skyrocketing costs for pension and health care, as well as declining revenue—must find creative ways to fund programs and continue to prudently spend tax dollars.

No, I'm just really busy with breaking news, and as I said I didn't know he was going to speak for so long. That much video takes a long time to upload, I have a pretty new MacBook Pro and decent Internet connection. What I need is 10 more hours in the day.

Thanks for the update. Time for an updated Mac or just a really slow Internet connection?

Yes Henry, I was there and will post the video as soon as I can. Video takes forever, I didn't know he was going to speak that long, and I had breaking news in between. Will get to it when I can.

Were you at the Michael Moore event the other day? I thought I saw you taking notes and filming, but could not find any story posted.

Just comes to mind because of all the "Snooki" whoop-la on the site.
