Hastings Becomes 'Mapleton' for HBO Pilot

Star Justin Theroux was part of a scene involving a parade on Hastings' Main Street today.

Main Street in Hastings had a parade this afternoon as HBO's "The Leftovers" filmed scenes for its upcoming pilot.

Star Justin Theroux could be seen on the street wearing a police uniform as crews shot scenes for a Heroes Day parade on Main Street in "Mapleton."

Theroux, known lately as being Jennifer Aniston's fiancé, also include 2012's Wanderlust, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and multiple episodes of NBC's Parks & Recreation.

The Village of Hastings has several parking and restrictions and street closing today and tomorrow as HBO shoots more scenes for the TV movie. Get those details here.

According to a Variety article about The Leftovers, "Theroux will play Kevin Garvey, a chief of police and father of two who is trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in this [post-Rapture] world."

The pilot is reportedly based on a 2011 book by Tom Perotta of the same name.
