The Men's Club of the JCC on the Hudson has extended an invitation to members of the public to sit in as guests at any forthcoming meeting and learn about the club.
"Prospective members are welcome to join us at any time," Elliott Topp, executive director of the club, said.
The club meets every Wednesday morning at 9:45 a.m. at the JCC's facility in Tarrytown (located adjacent to the Doubletree Hotel). Invited speakers at its meetings cover a wide variety of topics including entertainment, literature, health care, sports and politics.
The club was started by a group of retired business men to provide fellowship and in general keep abreast of progress. One meeting a month is reserved for the discussion of current events.
The club sponsors an annual luncheon and conducts field trips, usually by bus. In recent years, it has visited West Point, the Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy and several museums in New York City and Westchester County.
Previous speakers have included Jeanine Pirro, former District Attorney and judge, and Andrew J. Spano, former Westchester County Executive.
The agenda for a typical meeting is:
- 9:45 a.m. Bagels, cream cheese and coffee
- 10 to 11 a.m. A talk by an invited speaker followed by questions and answers
