Rescheduled to June 22! Please register in advance (online or by phone to 914-412-8393).
Have you been to Curious-on-Hudson yet? If you have, then you know we have a really nice outdoor terrace and we plan to start using it! On June 8, we are hosting pitmaster Steve Fretterd who is going to demonstrate the how, why, when of barbecue. He'll do the teaching and you will be able to enjoy a delicious barbecue meal while you're at it, including ribs, beans, cornbread, cole slaw and some kick@ss pie! We'll have the standard refreshments on hand along with a brew for each one of yo (over 21, of  course).Steve will cover meat cuts, equipment and temperature and technique.  He'll go over the types of wood you can use to set up a barbecue and what goes into a barbecue sauces, marinades, rubs and sops.  He'll walk you through the five main barbecue regions and explain the difference between cooking slow and low vs. high and slow. And as much as you think you know about cooking outdoors, chances are you are going to learn something here and you'll get to enjoy a meal at the same time, some great company, a night on a rooftop terrace and some live music. And Steve is not one of those elitist food guys..no way. He is 205%personality --lots of personality. You will laugh. You will learn. You will leave satisfied, June 8, 2013  6:30 -9:00 PM
