Hastings Police: House Egged; Naked Man on Saw Mill

Read about some of the recent incidents investigated by the Hastings Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

The following incidents were reported to the Hastings Police Department:

Residence Egged

A Rosedale Avenue resident reported to police the morning of June 23 that sometime since the afternoon prior, her home had been egged.

The woman told police she could see about two eggs on the roof of her porch.

Streaker on Saw Mill


Police received a report at 6:03 a.m. June 23 reporting a naked man running in the northbound lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway near exit 13.

Yonkers Police also notified the Westchester County Police Department about the complaint.

Responding patrol officers were unable to locate the subject.

Man Threatened at Park

A village man reported to police that on June 22 at approximately 11 p.m., he was harassed by a group of youths at Draper Park.

The man said he had been using his telescope at the park when "numerous youths in the distance" yelled at him, but did not come close to him.

He said he left the park due to the youths' "disturbing behavior."

Police noted the park is closed to the public after dark.

Animal Parts Found

An Edgars Lane resident called police at 12:35 p.m. on June 17 and reported she continues to find "small dismembered animal parts" around her property.

The woman said the animal parts might be from a den of foxes that lives on her neighbor's property.

Lottery Scam

A Farragut Avenue resident called police to report being the victim of a phone scam.

She told police she had received multiple phone calls from a peson telling her she won a $3.8 million lottery prize and a Mercedes Benz.

Police advised the woman not to send money to the scammers.

One Hospitalized in Saw Mill Accident

Police were informed by Westchester County Fire Control the evening of June 19 of an account with injuries in the southbound lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway.

According to the 4:37 p.m. report, Westchester County Police were responding.

Three people involved in the accident refused medical attention at the scene, while a fourth person was transportation to St. John's Riverside Hospital.

Trespassing

Police received reports of a group of loud youths near Hillside Elementary School.

Police responded and saw several youths fleeing the area upon arrival. Another small group was dispersed as well, police said.

Police stopped a youth "who was slow to leave the area," and advised him of the trespassing violation.
