Cops: Man Punched During Attempted Parking Lot Robbery

A suspect told a resident "Don't make a scene" in the Dobbs Ferry Stop & Shop parking lot, according to police.

A report of an attempted robbery in the Dobbs Ferry Stop & Shop parking lot was unsuccessful on June 21, according to police.

A 24-year-old village resident reported that while exiting his vehicle in the grocery store's parking lot at approximately 11:15 p.m. Friday, he was approached by a male who held his car door open.

"Don't make a scene—just give me what you have in your wallet and pockets," the suspect reportedly told the man.

The resident told police he also noticed a second man leaning against his car.

The victim told police he refused to hand over his belongings and the first suspect responded by putting his hand in his pocket "in a threatening manner."

The resident told police he then started calling for help before the second man pushed him against the car and punched him twice in the face.

The victim was able to lock and close his car door, with his valuables inside, before running into the grocery store.

The two men, who were reportedly driving a light-colored vehicle, fled the scene.

Police continue to investigate the attempted robbery report using physical descriptions provided by the victim. They also interviewed a store employee.

The man did not require any medical attention following the incident.
