A Tarrytown teenager faces a misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Third Degree charge and Unlawful Possession of Alcohol violation after police allege he used a fake driver's license to buy beer at Irvington's Shell gas station.

Officers reported observing the 19-year-old walking out of the station's convenience store at 10:45 p.m. on July 5 with two 12-packs of Bud Light.

Irvington Police said after checking the man's license, it was found to be a fraudulent New Jersey license.

He was taken down the street to police headquarters where he was processed on the misdemeanor charge for using the fake identification and the state beverage control law for having alcohol under the drinking age.

The man was issued an appearance ticket and released to his father at the station.
