Rivertowns Square: Medical Facility or Original Proposal? [Poll]

Vote for your preference on how the AKZO Nobel lot in Dobbs Ferry should be repurposed.

Since the announced they were stopping the environmental review on their proposal —among other things—on the former AKZO Nobel lot, rumors have been flying around Dobbs Ferry that a medical facility, even a drug rehab center could be constructed on the site.

To set the record straight, there has been no official talk by the developers about going in this direction—

However, Village Administrator Marcus Serrano said that the developers could lease or sell the property to a health care organization without any approvals from the board—or an environmental review—because that is what the property was.

"It could be a low-income medical facility—even a drug rehab center or methadone clinic," Serrano said. "That would be in their rights."

I have heard that the only asking buyer on the property is a drug rehab center  that will have government backing. Apparently a center for street using drug addicts from NYC and Jersey. Lets get real Dobbs. Grow up and embrace improvements. I am a young resident and I would love to see one of you buy the land and develop it in a way that is profitable on intitial investment (thats the reson to develop correct?) The plan seemed great for local business and economy. A shame that we will have CV and a drug center taking up much of the southeast part of town.

The developers who own the land and opposed the Rivertowns Square proposal received a huge amount of backlash from the community.

Which would you prefer?  A medical facility built without public hearings or the original proposal?  Vote in our poll.
