Ardsley Day

  • Why Go: Show your Ardsley pride, while enjoying a day with neighbors and new friends at this autumn festival. There will be an old-fashion pie baking contest, live music, a rock wall, inflatable obstacle course, bumper cars, face painting booths, crafts, food and more. Click here for details.

Clocktowner Players Autumn Gala

  • Where/When: Village of Irvington Town Hall Theater, 85 Main St., Irvington; Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Why go: Award winning journalist Meredith Vieriawill narrate a concert version of “Man of La Mancha” for the Clocktower Players’ Autumn Gala. Click here for details.

  • Where/When: Irvington Public Library, 12 S. Astor St., Irvington; Sunday, Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
  • Why go: Learn about the man V.E. Macy Park is named after. The Irvington Historical Society is hosting a lecture by Walter Schwartz on V Everit Macy, a progressive reformer, humanitarian and philanthropist.
  • Price: Free

Dance to Make a Difference

  • Where/When: Lewisboro Town Park, Sat. Oct. 13, 10 a.m. - 3p.m
  • Why go:  To support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and the Light the Night Walk on November 3rd, and a local girl who suffers from the disease, Sabrina Marciante. ZUMBA Demos will be held at 10:30am, 12:00, and 1:30. Jump for a cure in the Inflatable Castle and take part in arts and crafts, face painting, giveaways and raffles and a live Candy Land Game. Hot Dogs, Popcorn, and Hot Apple Cider. Details here.
  • Price: $20 per Zumba class, refreshments for purchase.

Pound Ridge Harvest Festival

  • Where/When: Downtown Scotts Corners, Sat. Oct. 13, 2 p.m - 6 p.m.
  • Why go: Great food, great music, see neighbors and friends. More details can be found on the event listing. Toad the Wet Sprocket and musicians from Fox Lane High School are slated to perform.
  • Pricing: Cost of food, event is free.

Bedford Hills Lions Club Car Show

  • Where/When: The Lions Club of Bedford Hills will be hosting a Car Show on Sunday, October 14 [rain date Sun., Oct. 21) from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Show will take place in the Katonah Commuter Parking Lot #3 [50 Woods Bridge Road, Katonah, NY).
  • Why go: Whether or not you are a car aficionado, it's fun to check out the variety of vintage and new cars on display. hould arrive by 8:30am; the show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  There will be food and various vendor tables throughout the show area. 
  • Price: The cost is $15 to enter a vehicle in the Show.  Spectator price is $5 per person, 5 yrs and under are free.

Lyndhurst: Scarecrow Invasion

  • When/Where: Lyndhurst, daily during daylight hours. 635 South Broadway, Tarrytown
  • Why Go: Participating in this year's Scarecrow Invasion are Irvington School District Middle and High Schools, Westlake Middle School, Mount Pleasant School District, Blind Brook Elementary School, and Another Step, Elmsford.  Walk amidst this exuberant installation of over 400 scarecrows from October 12 through October 31. Then there’s the greenhouse: inside the “bones” of Lyndhurst’s spectacular 18,600 square foot greenhouse are the setting for an outdoor art exhibition, opening October 14 through November 11. Themed Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Lantern Tours: There Goes the Neighborhood!

  • When/Where: Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, 540 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow. Sun, Oct. 14. More dates: Oct. 21, 27, 28, 31; from 7 to 9 p.m. 
  • Why Go: Join Sara Mascia and Tara Van Tassell of our local historical society on these evening walking tours of Sleepy Hollow Cemetery as they discover our colorful local residents and some of our world famous inhabitants. You’ll visit author Washington Irving, self-styled frontiersman Alfred Weed, eccentric poet Minna Irving, business owner and social activist Amanda Foster, wealthy industrialists William Rockefeller and John Archbold, labor leader Samuel Gompers, and many others—all by the light of kerosene lanterns! Yes, Tara is a real Van Tassell, and she may even dish on her famous family!

Charity Golf Outing to Benefit the National Amputee Foundation & SPCA of Westchester

  • When/Where: Friday, Oct. 12 at the Somers Pointe Golf Club, located at 1000 West Hill Drive in Somers
  • Why Go: Yorktown's CobbleStone Abstract company will be hosting a small charity golf outing to benefit the Veteran's National Amputee Foundation and the SPCA of Westchester. There will be two amputee veterans from the National Amputee Foundation, which helps all veterans. They will be playing golf. The National Amputee Foundation helps all veterans. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. Warm up on the range is 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There is a BBQ at 11 a.m. and lunch at 12:30 p.m. The cocktail reception, dinner, raffles and auction begin at 5:30 p.m.
  • Price: $200 per golfer for lunch, dinner and golf; dinner only $100.

YHS Music Boosters Gigantic Tag Sale

  • When/Where: Saturday, Oct. 13 from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. at the Yorktown High School cafeteria
  • Why Go: It's the 6th Annual YHS Music Boosters Tag Sale when dozens of families can contribute a variety of items. Donations will be accepted on Friday, Oct. 12 from 3 to 8 p.m. and can be brought to the YHS Band Room. You can donate new or gently used collectibles, books, household items, small (working) appliances, clothing, furniture, toys, sports equipment or other treasures. No baby items, stuffed animals, upholstered furniture, mattresses, pillows or exercise equipment. The money raised from the tag sale will help defray the cost of the Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra's participation in regional music festivals
  • Price: Admission is free.

10th Annual Community Car & Contraption Show

  • Where/Where: Sunday, Oct. 14 at 12 p.m. at Peter Pratt's Inn, located at 673 Croton Heights Rd. in Yorktown
  • Why Go: Spend the afternoon at Yorktown's historic Peter Pratt's Inn for the 10th Annual Croton Heights Community Car and Contraption Show featuring cars, tractors and antique mechanical exhibition. Refreshments will available through the local Girl Scout troop.
