Hundreds Stolen from Purse, Van Theft

This report was derived from information from the Dobbs Ferry Police Department, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A 55-year-old woman reported that her purse was robbed while it was in a patient’s room at a local nursing home on Nov. 21 between 7:15 a.m. and 2:43 p.m. About $640 was stolen from an envelope inside the purse. The patient’s room was occupied and not secured, according to police. The matter is under investigation.
  • An 18-year-old Dobbs Ferry resident was arrested for petty larceny, a class A misdemeanor, on Nov. 16 for stealing a packet of Skittles and sour candy from a Broadway business.
  • An Elm Street bus company reported that a white 2002 Ford Econoline van was missing on Nov. 12 from their property. The van is worth $2,500.
