Irvington PD Takes to Twitter

Local police is trying social media as a modern way to reach out to the Irvington community.

The Irvington Police Department is getting social media savvy in 2013 as a way of enhancing communication with the public.

The local police department has launched its own Twitter page to help get information out to the public in a timely and more modern fashion.

“We want to use social media to our advantage,” said Det. Michael Toolin, who is managing the police department’s Twitter page. “Twitter is one of the biggest trends in social media. Everybody Tweets!”
