Dobbs Ferry UFSD is on Facebook

The school district recently launched an official social media page.

Want to stay updated on anything and everything related to the Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District? You can now get school district updates in your Facebook feed. 

“The Facebook page is there to supplement what is already on the website, which is the ‘official’ source of information and news for the Dobbs Ferry School District http://www.dfsd.org/,” said Superintendent Dr. Lisa Brady.

A district-wide survey conduced by the district's ad-hoc communications committee revealed that the using Facebook would be an effective way to enhance the two-way conversation with Dobbs Ferry parents and residents.

“We ask that you please read the rules-of-engagement and be a positive role model when posting a comment on the Facebook page," said Brady. "It is there for students, staff, parents and community members to enjoy, and we hope that it gets people excited about our schools and what’s happening in 21st century education.” 

The survey also lead the superintendent to forum various committees like website redesign, TV/Video programming, email/print communications and social media to achieve the district's goal of increase transparency within the district.

 "The new Facebook page will broaden the District’s base of communications’ tools to help the schools interact more effectively with its parent population and the community at large," said a press release from the school district. "Many school districts are also leveraging social media to complement their strategic plan goals, which is another major thrust for the District in the coming 2012-2013 school year as they develop an educational roadmap for the next five years."
